This very fine white tea comes from the province of Fujian. Only the tip is collected. Once dried, the downy bud takes on a gray hue. Its leaf looks like a needle; hence, its name. This is indisputably the finest quality tea in the world. Long ago, it was kept for the unique use of the emperor of China. It is very rich in vitamin C and very bright when steeped, and it can be left to stand three or four times. A wondrous tea whose discovery is well worth sharing.

Steeping time: seven to twenty minutes
